Our Apsáalooke Youth

Healthy Relationships Project

Messengers for Health is working with partners from Montana State University and the Guardians of the Living Water Program (led by Dr. Vanessa Simonds, Professor at Montana State University and Crow Tribal member) to develop a curriculum to improve healthy relationship among youth while incorporating Apsáalooke cultural strengths.

This curriculum will focus on the following topics:

  • Self-care

  • Self-esteem

  • Sexual exploitation and refusal skills

  • Building healthy relationships

    • Identifying healthy relationships​

    • Making friends

    • Communication

  • Puberty

  • Drugs and alcohol

  • STDs and pregnancy

  • Elders sharing stories and advice
